I’m sitting on the train

Sitting on the train, stylised however, is a newsletter launched by J-min, a school dropout and a victim of a serial harasser and the Christian far-right in Singapore.

The situation at hand is a complex one involving multiple actors, and can be confusing to both the authorities and onlookers. By providing a clear, nuanced and long-form narrative by a named victim affected by the situation, Sitting hopes to establish a voice for victims, provide a level of clarity and a part of the picture to the general public.

Sitting’s claims are backed by evidence; for example, J-min’s own claims have been reported to the police, with screenshots compiled of harassment as evidence. These evidences corroborate with what other people have experienced, and are the facts that prop up the backbone of the narrative that the victims have. These are not baseless claims and are generally people’s testimonies of what they have been through.
